Beneath a crisp Georgian exterior is an elegant mansion house noted for its fine furniture and paintings and extravagant late Victorian interiors shows the fascinating history of the Gordon family. The superb collection of paintings includes works by Pompeo Batoni, William Mosman, Sir Thomas Lawrence and James Giles.
Haddo House also has a stunning terraced garden with geometric rosebeds and fountain, a lavish herbaceous border and secluded glades and knolls. A magnificent avenue of lime trees leads to Haddo Country Park with its lakes, monuments, walks and wildlife
Visit the old stables and you'll find a shop, which sells a lovely range of gifts, then drop into the period tearoom for refreshments and sample some delicious home baking.
Haddo House has been home to the Gordon family for over 400 years and visitors often remark how homely it feels. Originally designed by William Adam in 1732 and refurbished in 1880, the house combines crisp Georgian architecture with sumptuous late Victorian interiors.
