Airports
Aberdeen (ABZ) is based out a little in the sticks, at Dyce, around 7 miles from Aberdeen city centre, but is easily accessible by road and bus.
Flights from Aberdeen to London are just over an hour - as opposed to nearly 10 hours by car, so obviously a popular choice. The JET 727 Bus Service as provided by Stagecoach Bluebird runs regularly (every 20 mins weekdays and 30 mins at weekends).
Aberdeen Airport serves most of Europe.
Aberdeen Airport is operated by BAA.
Getting to/from the Airport
To travel between the airport and city centre, the bus is the quickest and most convenient option. The 727 bus route (branded "JET") operates distinctive purple/silver buses which run every 20 minutes on weekdays during the day and every 30 minutes at evenings and weekends. These buses arrive and depart from the bus station at Union Square on Guild Street
Getting to/from the airport by taxi is also popular (there can be large queues at the airport if a flight was busy). Taxi is a good option if not coming from the city centre or if you have a lot of luggage. Allow approximately £20 for a one-way trip between the airport and city centre. If you need to arrive at the airport early in the morning, do not count on finding a taxi in the street; book your taxi with the taxi company the night before. Hire cars are also available from major international companies at the airport.
