A popular coastal town in the Buchan area of Aberdeenshire that became a Royal Burgh in the 12th century. There are a number of iconic landmarks dotted around the town centre that give clues to its history including the Mercat Cross, Tolbooth Steeple and Town House. Banff is one of Scotland's most attractive, best-preserved towns and presents a range of attractions and activities for tourists to enjoy.    

Duff House is the largest and most popular of attractions, enjoying 5-star VisitScotland status. Its history is colourful and interesting and well worth a visit to learn about its varying occupants and visitors.  Also open to the public are the Wrack Woods, just south of Duff House. The woods contain an old ice house, a mausoleum, and a walk to the secluded Bridge of Alvah, a single-arch bridge spanning the river Deveron. The Deveron is known for its salmon and trout fishing.
 
Another of Banff's popular events include the annual COAST Festival - a weekend that celebrates art and culture, run over the May bank holiday each year. Experience and enjoy this jewel on Moray's coastline with its spectacular views of the highlands.
